A designer original begins with an artist’s own character or visual language. Licensed collectibles connect a product to an existing anime, game, film or TV world. Format is a separate question: either kind of IP can appear as a figure, plush, art toy or accessory.
Make room for both

Artist attribution and licensing information should come from the maker or product documentation. UNBOX does not label a product licensed just because it resembles a recognizable character. Check the listing and ask for clarification before buying.
