The object that started everything.
An original invitation to tell the story behind your first collectible.
The first one is rarely the biggest
It might have been a keychain, a card or a small figure you picked up because the face made you laugh. A first collectible does not need a dramatic origin story. What matters is the moment it stopped being just an object and became something you wanted to keep.
Notice the personal detail
Maybe it came from a trip. Maybe it made a desk feel less anonymous. Maybe it belonged to a character who helped you through a difficult season. These details explain a collection better than a complete product list. They also make room for collectors who do not share the same favorite series.
You can change your taste
The thing that started your collection does not have to define every piece that follows. You can move from fandom figures to designer characters, from cards to BJD styling, or from polished shapes to handmade textures. A shelf can record those changes instead of concealing them.
Tell the story without giving away yourself
A useful community post includes the object, what caught your attention and why it stayed. Keep private order details, addresses and personal contact information out of the story. If you mention a maker, give the name you can verify. If you are unsure of the origin, say so rather than guessing.
Your turn
Finish this sentence in Collector Club: “I started collecting when…” You do not need a rare piece or a large shelf to join. We are interested in the story, not a competition over who owns the most.
